Duane Whitmer - Chair
Duane Whitmer is the Chair of the Erie County Libertaran Party. He is a small business owner in Hamburg, NY. Duane was born and raised in Franklinville, NY. After high school, he attended and graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2009 with a degree in Accounting.
Professionally, his accounting experience began while working at a public accounting firm in 2010. He continued to gain experience in private accounting and at the age of 25 decided to begin his own business DJW Financial Services, now known as Whitmer Accounting and Tax. Duane takes pride in helping businesses that are start ups, assisting through the red tape and bureaucracy.
In 2019, he was elected Chair of the Erie County Libertarian Party and also serves on the Interim State Committee of the Libertarian Party of New York. In 2020, he is running for Congress in New York’s 27th Congressional District.

Maura Botsford - Secretary
Maura Botsford is the Secretary of the Erie County Libertarian Party. She is from Fulton, NY and graduated from Cayuga Community College in 2020 with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice. She is currently enrolled in the Political Science BA/Law JD program at the University at Buffalo.
Her Libertarian activism began in 2016 when she loudly supported Gary Johnson’s presidential campaign as a junior in high school, and continued in 2018 when she volunteered on Larry Sharpe’s gubernatorial campaign. Since then, she has coordinated social media for the Libertarian Party of New York and worked full time in 2020 as a campaign director on Duane Whitmer’s congressional campaign.
